Through our innovative “Lifestyle for the Environment” (LiFE) initiative, we are empowering businesses and communities to adopt eco-friendly practices that create a lasting impact.

At the heart of our mission lies the recognition that the fragrance and flavour industry often finds itself with surplus and expired raw materials, leaving companies with the dilemma of how to responsibly manage these valuable resources. Rather than letting them go to waste, FnF Surplus has developed a comprehensive solution to repurpose and recycle these materials, ensuring they find new life in a variety of applications.

Our team of experts meticulously retests the expired essential oils, evaluating their chemical and physical stability, potential contamination, and overall efficacy. Despite prolonged storage, these “essences” of plant extracts often retain 97-98% of their original properties, making them safe for use in products that are not directly consumed by humans.

Armed with this expertise, we then repurpose and recycle these essential oils, blending and distilling them to create a diverse range of odoriferous substances for agarbattis (incense sticks), air care products, and a wide array of home and hygiene items. These repurposed materials are then made available to NGOs supporting women’s self-help groups, as well as micro and cottage enterprises engaged in the manufacturing of these products.

As the world grapples with the pressing challenges of environmental degradation and climate change, the Government of India has taken a bold step forward with the launch of the “Lifestyle for the Environment” (LiFE) initiative. Spearheaded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, LiFE recognises that individual and community actions can make a significant impact in driving sustainable change.

Aligned with the Government of India’s Mission LiFE 2022-23, which focuses on changing demand patterns, we are proud to nudge institutions towards simple, yet impactful, environment-friendly actions.
